Star ferry was one of the most important sea transportation in the 1970s. Even though it has been retiring very soon, it is still one of the landmarks that almost all tourists will visit in Hong Kong. And, here it is:

Butterfly @ Hong Kong Park
Even though Hong Kong is a highly civilized city, there are still places for butterflies to live with! I dragged around the Hong Kong Park during lunch today and have a few nice shots. Enjoy!!~
In order to take a good butterfly photo, I tried a lot of combination of flash setting. Even though X-sync flash is more stable, high speed flash is preferred all the time. Try it out!

Butterfly @ San Tau (Lantau)
There are few butterflies in Hong Kong, and San Tau is one of the most popular places for photographers to take photos with butterfly in Hong Kong.
Equipment used: EOS 450D + 55-250mm (APS-C x1.6) @250mm, 430 EXII flash
This butterfly gets hurt, as you may discover it at the bottom-left of it. I feel so sad, even though it is beautiful though.
Even though this kind of picture is boring, but it is never easy to take:
1) You need a lens with at least 300mm or above. Some ppl may try to use a 1xxmm macro lens, but these lens are only for flowers, not for insects for most cases
2) Shutter speed! How fast should be enough? Usually you need a shutter with 1/200 or higher (You may need a flash with FP)... photos with 1/60 or lower, no hope
3) A flash. Yes, a flash. An external flash is one of the most important thing in insect photos. You'll not see any detail of the butterfly without an external flash
4) Last but not least, the EV. Insects are usually darker in color, hence you need to lower the EV to -1/3 in order to make a correct exposure.

A flash to a monster ~^^~
Source Photo: http://canonfieldreviews.com/canon-1d-markiv/
Even though I have no idea (and I guess that I can never have) about how this monster works. It is really so exciting when I see a movie setup of the 1DmarkIV like this... huh!
