CPL, simple usage

If you don't know what CPL is, please visit here

All photos here are untouched. Hence the coloring is the real difference, not magnified ones!

This is some simple demonstrations for 2 common usages of a CPL.

1) Make greens more vivid, and enriching the color
CPL can help to reduce reflection on leaves so that the reflection from the sunlight can be removed effectively using CPL. You may see the following examples for this magic!

2) Remove the reflection from the water surface by sunlight, so that the fish under the water and the flowers can be easily seen.

Here is another good example:

One more points to note, since CPL will reduce the amount of light by about 2/3 to 1 stop, it needs special attention about the exposure for the photo as a whole. As you may see from the examples below, the exposure of the sky is correct before the using of CPL, while it is over-exposed when the CPL is in use.

As you cam see, the right one with CPL, the green is more vivid. However, in order to get the correct exposure of the ground, the sky is over-exposed...

Enjoy!
